29-year-old Jack Arran, from Morriston, had taken up the decorating trade after leaving prison and was “passionate” about the job until contracts dried up and he lost his employment.
Swansea Crown Court heard that when the home Arran shared with his parents was searched, officers recovered two sets of weighing scales containing traces of cocaine and cannabis, 11 wraps of crack cocaine, and a bag containing 54g of cocaine from his bedroom.
Arran was arrested on January 31, 2025, having been found in possession of the Class A drugs
Police also found a quantity of pregabalin, bromazepam and Valium tablets.
A mobile phone in Arran’s possession was later found to be linked to a drug line which was already under investigation.
On March 3, he pleaded guilty to possession and possession with intent to supply Class A substances, and also to acquiring criminal property.
With a one-quarter discount for his guilty pleas Arran was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
He will serve up to half that sentence in custody before being released on licence to serve the remainder in the community.
Detective Sergeant Heather Southway said:
“Jack Arran was involved in peddling some of the most harmful of drugs into our communities, and due to this sentence, his involvement has fortunately come to an end.
“This case is yet another reminder to those involved in the illegal drug trade – you will be caught, and you will be brought to justice.”
