Regional bus operator First Cymru may have only just announced timetable changes to take effect from Sunday 5 May in an effort to improve the reliability of its services.
But there are even more changes on the horizon, as the company has announced further timetable changes and the introduction of two new services from Sunday 9 June.
The biggest changes come in Mumbles, as services 2 and 3A get a revised timetable to provide a more evenly timed service to Mumbles. A new service 1 is also being introduced that will run hourly through the day time between the city centre and Caswell Bay via Blackpill, Mumbles and Newton Road. This new service will mean an increase in frequency of buses to Mumbles, which from June will run every 15 minutes.
The cross-city service 4 from Morriston Hospital to Singleton Hospital via the city centre will see its frequency increased from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes from 9 June.
Swansea Marina’s service 7 will see its timetable revised from 9 June, so that journeys departing Swansea Bus Station after 11.00am will depart 5 minutes later.
In Townhill and Mayhill, the frequency of services 12 and 13 will be increased from every 30 minutes to every 15 minutes.
A new service X13A is being introduced from 9 June that links Swansea Bus Station with Pontarddulais running via Gors Avenue, Fforestfach, Tircoed and Pontlliw.
The service 16 timetable will be revised from 9 June to introduce an additional morning Monday to Friday journey departing Gowerton Hill Street at 6.20am toward Swansea, running via Mayhill Shops.
There will also be timetable changes on the 111 service from Swansea to Llanelli.
Several University bus services will stop during the University holiday period, so from 9 June services 90A, N91, 92 and N92 will all be withdrawn, with services 90 and 91 reverting to a special University holiday timetable.
Timetables for all of the changes can be found on First Cymru’s website.
