Swansea Council’s contractors, Knights Brown have started installing sections of wall on the prom near the Oystermouth Square car park.

The council say that on the sea-side they curve over at the top to help repel waves.

On the land-side the reinforced concrete is moulded to look like local limestone.

The council added that the new sections of wall have already been attracting positive comments from the public.

Work is progressing on these sections, which include other improvements along the prom towards Verdi’s, aimed at strengthening the defences to guard against rising tides & storms over the coming decades.
