Having failed to get going in a scrappy first-half, the West Wallians found themselves with a 13-0 deficit at the break.
Scrum-half Craig Casey powered over from the driving maul to put the visitors ahead, before a couple of JJ Hanrahan penalties gave Munster a healthy lead, after a forgettable first 40 minutes of rugby.
Both side’s improved after the break as wing Mike Haley and Wales back Blair Murray exchanged tries, before Dan Kelly crossed on his Munster debut, as the wheels started to gain motion for the away side, whilst the Scarlets would come off as the error count grew.
Wing, Ellis Mee’s effort sparked hopes of a comeback, but Munster wrapped up the bonus-point through replacement lock Tom Ahern’s close-range score.
Taine Plumtree’s late interception set up a frantic finale, but inaccuracies saw Scarlets leave the game empty handed and fall to an eighth successive loss to the Irish region.
Cast a frustrated figure after the contest, Peel had no complaints with the defeat and feels his side need to show a more clinical ruthless edge to their performance.
“We played for the 80, we had a lot of endeavour in the performance, but they were more ruthless when they had opportunities.
“We didn’t quite get into the flow of the game, we couldn’t dominate the collisions, and it was difficult to play off slower ball.
“On the whole there’s no complaints, I thought they were the better side on the day.”
Peel’s side will now look to regroup quickly before they face Connacht in Galway next Saturday.
