30-year-old Daniel Rice, from Swansea city centre, continually targeted the Tesco Express store in Treboeth, with his offences amounting to a value of over £4,000.
He has been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, serving the time for each of his 16 offences concurrently.
He has also been made subject of a Criminal Behaviour Order, under which he is not to attend or enter Tesco Express for a period of three years.
Sergeant Craig Evans said:
“We take swift action against shoplifters in our community, with this as the latest example.
“Daniel Rice’s crime spree targeted the same store time and time again, causing misery for staff.
“Following a thorough investigation by our Operation Viscaria team, in particular PCs Pearson and Fritche, we are pleased that the store will no longer have to worry about him as he begins his sentence in prison.”
