Ospreys Rugby appoint Lancaster as Commercial Director

The Ospreys Rugby have announced the appointment of Richard Lancaster as new Commercial Director.

A Swansea native, Lancaster joins Ospreys Rugby from Swansea University, where he has played a key role in the Swansea Bay City Deal Campuses project including the development of a sports innovation centre in Swansea. His leadership has also led to the creation of the National Network for Innovation in Sport & Health.

During his tenure at Swansea University, Lancaster also played a pivotal role in elevating the Welsh Varsity into a major student sporting event. His extensive experience spans commercial partnerships, major events, fundraising, marketing, and also in communications.

Lancaster’s impressive CV also includes numerous rugby related roles such as Head of Development and Engagement at Swansea University, whilst also being involved in the development of PROTECHT mouthguards.

The club have confirmed in his new role, Lancaster will be in charge of crafting and implementing commercial strategies. Additionally, he will lead the Commercial team, focusing on cultivating robust, effective, and enduring relationships with partners.
