A hat-trick from wing Kyle Rowe was the standout as the visitors brutalised an ill-disciplined Scarlets with a seven-try bonus-point victory to move up to second place in the United Rugby Championship table.
Rowe started and finished the night’s scoring as further scores from hooker Gregor Hiddleston, lock Scott Cummings and URC top scorer Johnny Matthews would put Peel’s side to the sword.
A penalty try then added insult to injury literally after fly-half Ioan Lloyd had failed to return after the break. His replacement Dan Jones would be punished for collapsing a maul as ill-discipline would be a regular theme of the night for the home side.
Jones would be one of three players booked during the contest after Wales wing Tom Rodgers had earlier been punished for a dangerous tackle, whilst Sam Lousi would meet the same fate on Jones’ return after a similar offense.
With the Tonga lock off the field, man-of-the-match Rowe would run in tries six and seven to conclude a very forgettable night for the home faithful – and one to cement the Scots in the mix as one of the favourites for this year’s title.
There was precious little to enthuse about for the Scarlets who slumped to their 10th defeat of the campaign. Peel will now look to regroup his beleaguered side before their next fixture, a trip to Edinburgh in three weeks time.

“I think we got what we deserved to be honest,” said a disillusioned Peel after the match.
“We were soft with some of our offloading game, especially in the second-half. We give Glasgow some ins.
“I thought discipline was an issue for us. We spoke before the game about not allowing them access into our twenty-two and we did that on far too many occasions.
“We had discipline [problems] with cards too. We were down to 13 at one point.
“Losing Ioan [Lloyd] and Dan [Jones] as tens [to injury and a yellow card] was also a problem. We had to manage the game a bit differently then.
“We got what we deserved because there are elements of the game, we need to be better at.
“Basic fundamentals [errors] of the game gave Glasgow a way in. We know that they are a good team and can move the ball quickly, so you need to be right in certain areas.
“I felt at times we weren’t accurate when we had opportunities and from our perspective, we gave them too many in our twenty-two.”
