South Wales Police say 21-year-old Jessica Thorne, from Penlan, threw boiling water towards another woman’s face on Boxing Day last year in an attack “purely motivated by jealousy”.
Thorne, described by Police as an “incredibly dangerous woman”, has been sentenced to ten months and two weeks in prison for the attack which left the victim was left with a large red burn on the side of their face.
The victim’s injuries could take up to two years to heal and may leave scarring.
Detective Sergeant Samuel Stanway from South Wales Police said:
“Jessica Thorne has proven herself to be an incredibly dangerous woman, having made the decision to enact an attack on the victim which could have left them scarred for life.
“This attack was purely motivated by jealousy for the victim.
“We hope that the victim makes a swift recovery and is comforted that Jessica Thorne is going to prison.”
