The incident occurred at around 12:10am on Glenalla Road, where a man reportedly snatched a handbag from a woman before pushing her to the ground and fleeing the scene.
A Social Media statement from the force said:
“We’re appealing for witnesses to a robbery which was reported in Llanelli at just after midnight (Saturday, June 21).
“A man is reported to have snatched a handbag from the victim as she was walking along Glenalla Road, before pushing her to the ground.
“The suspect is described as approximately 5ft 8in tall, of slender build, with dark hair and heavy eyebrows. He was wearing blue shorts and a navy jumper.
“He was last seen running in the direction of East Gate, possibly down the side of Ffwrnes Theatre and onto Water Street.
“The stolen handbag is described as a grey leather drawstring bag featuring a crocheted mandala design. It contained a purse, a set of keys, a power bank, and a tablet box with medication.
“We are urging anyone who may have seen a man running from the Glenalla Road or College Hill area around 12:10am—or who may have found discarded items matching the description—to get in touch.
“An increased police presence will be in the area as officers carry out enquiries.”
