The camera, mounted on a police vehicle, is to be used to identify people the force are looking for in crowded places.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “The team will be supporting local officers as part of the national Operation Sceptre week, and the technology will be used to help identify suspect, people wanted on warrant and missing people.

“The zones covered by the technology are clearly marked, and anyone with any concerns about its use is encouraged to speak to the team, who are happy to explain more.”
