Montague, who previously served as the Executive Director at Notts County, will officially join the Swans on Tuesday, February 18th.
Montague will link back up with head coach Luke Williams who he worked with at the Magpies and will oversee all football operations and spearhead the club’s recruitment strategy.
Having started his career in 2011 with Football Radar, Montague rose to become Head of Football Analysis.
In 2019, Richard then moved to Notts County as Executive Director, effectively serving as Director of Football and oversaw a period where the Magpies won promotion from the National League in 2023.

“Swansea City AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Richard Montague as the club’s new Director of Football.
“Richard, who previously served as the Executive Director at Notts County, will officially join the Swans on Tuesday, 18th February.
“In his new role, Richard will be responsible for overseeing all football operations and spearheading the club’s recruitment strategy. His extensive experience and proven track record in football make him a key addition to the Swansea City family.
“Richard’s deep understanding of data analytics and his first-hand knowledge of the football industry and operations make him the outstanding candidate for this role. We look forward to him starting his new duties at Swansea City.”
