BBC Radio 6 favourites The Bug Club will play The Bunkhouse on Fringe Friday following a string of festival dates throughout the summer and ahead of a 32-date tour Europe, the USA and Canada.

Swansea Fringe Festival has a long history but returned in its current form in 2017, organising a wealth of music, comedy, poetry and theatre performances across Fringe weekend every year.

Organised by Swansea Music Hub, the 2023 event will start on Thursday 5th October with its popular launch event at Founders & Co. This will be followed by a packed programme of music, comedy, poetry and visual arts at multiple venues across the city on Friday and Saturday.

“Nearly 200 acts from across Wales have applied to perform at Fringe this year”, says co-organiser Josh David-Read.

“The quality and variety of applications is incredibly high, I think because the Fringe has established a reputation for putting on an incredible weekend of arts and culture. We have more headline acts like The Bug Club to announce, who will be playing on the same lineups as the bands and artists who’ve come through the application route.”

Fringe earlybird tickets are now on sale, priced at £16 for the full weekend.

“You could pay that just for a ticket to a Bug Club show” says venue owner Jordan McGuire, “so to get a full weekend for that price with some of the acts playing is just incredible value for money”.
