Yesterday officers from the organised crime unit executed a warrant as part of operation Winsford in Brynmill.
Entry to the property was forced, with 150 cannabis plants being found. Fatri Pashnjari, 24 from Brynmill was arrested and later charged for production of cannabis and has been remanded in court, awaiting trial.
Sergeant Andrew Henderson speaking on the raid commented:
“This was another industrial sized cannabis farm with a total of 150 plants recovered, with an estimated street value of approximately £70,000”
“Organised crime groups (OCG) are often behind many of these cannabis factories. These OCGs are earning a lot of money off the back of our communities, and they protect their plantations by using violence and intimidation.
“Whatever your viewpoint on cannabis the impact that the drugs trade, and the crime that often comes with it, can have on a community should not be underestimated. These factories fund further criminality and I am pleased that this haul of drugs will now never see our streets.
“I’d also like to thank members of the public who helped officers with intelligence about the factory. If you have any information on drug dealing or production in your area, please report to us, we will act upon the information. You can report to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
