“I wanted to be home with my children but I am also very driven. I didn’t want to give up work completely.”

Recognising the popularity of personalised, seasonal gifts with the rise in ‘making memories’ culture, Caitlyn began designing Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter gifts.

In the bridal bundle, names are embroidered onto the silk robe, slippers and bag and painted onto the hanger and flute, according to customer requirements.

“I have always wanted to be my own boss because I come from a family of business owners. My parents helped me research ways to start and we came across Business Wales. As I’m under 25, the team directed me to Big Ideas Wales.

“After meeting with my Business Advisor, Amanda, she recommended I apply for the Young Person’s Start-Up Grant.

“Alongside the grant, you can access one-to-one support from a dedicated business advisor, as well as workshops to build confidence in business and guidance to develop a business plan. I couldn’t have started my business without the initial investment from the grant and Amanda’s guidance.”
