45-year-old Justin Lewis and 37-year-old Matthew Pugh, both from Aberavon, alongside 41-year-old Leighon Weaver, from Port Talbot, targeted an address on Sycamore Crescent, Baglan in February.
After banging loudly on the address’s front door, a friend of the victim attempted to call for help by opening a window to the rear of the property, only to find one of the men waiting. That man then gained access through the window and let the other two men in by opening the front door.
One of the trio hit the victim over the head with a brick. Fortunately, the victim sustained only minor injuries.
The three men have been sentenced to 29 months each at Swansea Crown Court.
Detective Constable Philip Jones from South Wales Police said: “Justin Lewis, Matthew Pugh and Leighon Weaver callously targeted their victim and carried out violence with complete disregard for the victim’s wellbeing.
“The victim bravely defended his home, but was ultimately overpowered by the three perpetrators. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain serious injuries, but has nonetheless gone through a terrifying ordeal – at his own home and in the middle of the day.
“The three defendants are now rightfully off our streets and our community is safer for it.”
