In what could be a massive blow for club and country, the 23-year-old will face a decision this week of whether to go under the knife to solve the problem.
Booth speaking ahead of the second West-Wales derby of the season against the Scarlets feels the Morgan will be a big loss after being so effective in the reverse fixture a month ago.
“Jac Morgan won’t be about. He’s probably going to have an operation to repair an injury. We will know a bit more about that in the next couple of days,” said Booth.
“It will be long-term if there is a repair. Those things can be difficult to predict until you know the nature of it.
“I haven’t got the details yet, but that is what I have been told in the last 24-hours. From that point-of-view, we now know a bit more about what we are dealing with.
“Until people plot the cause of action, which our medical team is now, we won’t know the answer.
“Until they speak to the surgeon we won’t know if it [surgery] is going to happen.
“He was very pivotal in the last Scarlets game [and will be a big loss]. They will have a bit of motivation I’m sure that he is not playing, but it provides the opportunity for the next person.
“We have some good players, and we are excited about what they can do.”
Meanwhile, Booth revealed that Keiran Williams and Rhys Davies will be assessed in the next few days, whilst Nicky Smith will be touch and go after picking up a shoulder problem in the 38-5 loss to Montpellier last weekend.
“We’re hopeful on them, Nicky [Smith] is sore. We’re trying to establish his problem. If he doesn’t go this week there is a lot of rugby to be played, continued Booth.
“We do have Gareth Thomas, another Welsh international and Garyn Phillips as well as Rhys Henry so we will be well covered there.”
