Team members from Gover Veterinary Surgery are walking 20 miles for a good cause as the veterinary practice celebrates its twentieth anniversary.

Linnaeus-owned Gower Veterinary Surgery in Swansea first opened its doors back in May 2004 and team members are going to tackle a 20 kilometre walk in recognition of its twentieth anniversary.

The route will see them start at the practice and take them inland to Killay and also along the stunning Mumbles coastline.

The money raised is going to StreetVet, Gower Veterinary Surgery’s chosen charity for 2024.

Lauren Rogers, a lead veterinary nurse at Gower Veterinary Surgery, said: “We want to celebrate 20 years of Gower Veterinary Surgery while also raising money for an amazing charity.”

StreetVet is a multi award-winning registered charity delivering free essential vet care and services to pets of people experiencing homelessness in multiple locations across the UK.

Dedicated teams of professional vets and veterinary nurses volunteer their time to ensure care is available when needed.

Lauren added: “This year is a real milestone for Gower Vets, so I hope we can mark it in style by raising as much money as possible for StreetVet.”
