Early strikes from top scorer Zan Vipotnik and Ethan Galbraith in the first ten minutes had put the Swans in the ascendancy as they would take a two-goal lead into the break.
The home side, however, would respond after the break and a double from striker Aune Heggebo in the first seven minutes of the second period and a late Jayson Molumby strike gave all three points to the Midlands outfit.
The defeat sees the Swans perilously close to the Championship’s relegation zone with only goal difference keeping Vitor Matos’ side out the bottom having now won only one of their past ten league games.
The Swans had made three changes from the 2-1 defeat to Derby with Marko Stamenic and Goncalo Franco coming into the midfield, whilst Zeidane Inoussa would get the nod out wide. Jay Fulton, Liam Cullen and Ronald all dropped to the bench.
In dramatic scenes, Swansea would score an extraordinary opener after just 12 seconds of the contest.
Former Cardiff defender Nat Phillips only be able to half clear Ben Cabango’s long ball to Swans midfielder Goncalo Franco, whose cushioned first-time pass found Vipotnik to apply a high-class finish.
Galbraith then doubled the lead with his second goal in as many games with a stunning long-range effort, but with that the Swans would retreat into their shells with little attacking threat troubling Josh Griffiths in the Albion goal.
Ryan Mason’s side responded to his side’s abject first-half display with no fewer than four half-time substitutions, and his team immediately transformed the mood as Heggebo turned Cameron Burgess and fired between Lawrence Vigouroux’s legs.
Norway striker Heggebo swiftly claimed his second and fifth in four games from close range after George Campbell nodded down Alex Mowatt’s corner.
Vigouroux then made a crucial save to tip Johnston’s goal-bound effort away for a corner, but there was nothing he could do when Molumby’s drive would find the bottom corner from 12 yards to give the Midlands side the three points.
