The Swans would be dominant in the first 45 minutes of the game and deservedly would go into the break a goal to the good. Liam Cullen’s second in as many derby games proving the be difference following up Ronald’s initial effort.
Unlike the 2-0 victory in SA1 back in March, however, the Swans could not show the same intensity and ruthless edge to go on to find a second goal.
The visitors would then find their way back into the game with ten minutes to play with substitute Ollie Tanner cutting back for fellow replacement Callum Robinson to slot home a late equaliser.
With a drop in performance levels in the second period Williams feels that a draw on the day was the fair result and has called for his side to produce stronger game management in their display.

“I think it was a very cagey game, probably in the first-half we were the better team and deserved our lead at half-time, but the second half was a lot more even,” said Williams.
“I think if we’d have scored the second goal we would have taken the game away from them, but at 1-0 there is always that jeopardy.
“We squandered the chance today. It is frustrating as it is a huge game, and we know what it means.
“But we didn’t get that second goal and then as a coach, you probably fear the worst and really, we got what we deserved.
“The mindset changes the longer it is 1-0. It felt like in the dying moments it could go either way and both coaches would have felt tense.
“On the whole, we defended well, but we didn’t for one action and the ball ended up in the back of the net.
“We switched off for one moment and got punished.
“We aren’t looking like a bad side. We probably did enough to win today even though a draw is a fair result. We need more consistency.”
The Swans will look to bounce back to winning ways on Wednesday night where Wycombe Wanderers will be the visitors to the Swansea.com Stadium in the Carabao Cup 2nd round.
