In a grassroots initiative to involve local communities in the promotion of football, the competition run by Barclays, the competition’s official bank, was open to all pubs across the country.
Pub owner Kulwant Singh entered the draw in early December 2024 not expecting to hear anything back and on 2 January 2025 to his surprise he got an email noting that they had been selected as winners.
The date wasn’t finalised until 16 February noting further information to follow, so Kulwant says they were a bit cautious not to say anything until further confirmation. This came at the end of February when he started to tell the regulars of the good news.
Barclays is arranging for a photographer and videographer to attend the pub on the day, to film colleagues and customers enjoying the trophies experience. The Premier League/WSL trophies team will be responsible for the facilitation of the trophie’s appearance on the day.

Delighted owner of Bowen Arms Kulwant Singh is really looking forward to the day. He said:
“I thought it be great for the local Swansea community to get to see the PL and WSL trophies so we entered the competition but never expected to win.
“I was truly over the moon when we got the news. We’re looking forward to a great day for customers to get their hands on the trophies before the professionals do in May!”
Trophies will be on display on Sunday (16 March) from 12 to 4pm. Customers will have a chance to view and take photos with the trophies. They can all be “Champions for the Day.”
There’ll also be a Penalty shoot-out in the car park. Light snacks (free) will be put out for customers.
