Dyfed-Powys Police had launched an appeal to help find 85-year-old Charles after he was reported missing from his home in Cross Hands last week.
It was believed he had last been seen in the Brynamman area. Although formal identification has not yet taken place, Charles’ family have been informed.
In the police’s initial appeal, Charles was described as 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build, with short, grey, balding and a white beard. He was possibly wearing a light coloured, possibly yellow shirt and wearing a beige cap, and walked with a limp.
Police said he also may have been wearing a plaster on the back of his head.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said:
“Sadly, we can confirm a body has been found in the search for Charles.
“Formal identification has not been completed however his next of kin have been informed, and our thoughts are with the family.”
