The storm has caused chaos in Wales overnight on Friday into Saturday, with heavy rain and wind causing fallen trees, flooding and power cuts. The storm was officially named on Thursday and is forecast to cause disruption across the UK today and through the weekend.

Storm Darragh’s strong gusts are buffeting the coasts and hills of south Wales with the Met Office recording winds of up to 90 mph in some locations.

Last night an emergency phone alert was sent to millions of people in Red weather warning zones warning of a ‘danger to life’.
