South Wales Police are standing down an investigation into an alleged assault of a 13 year-old boy after finding that the “incident was not as reported to us”
Police originally appealed for information from the public after the boy was reported to have been assaulted on Gwendoline Street in Aberavon at around 8.40am this morning (Friday 1 October).
At the time, Police believed he was assaulted by three teenagers aged around 16 or 17 years old.
However in a subsequent statement on social media, South Wales Police said: “Officers investigating a reported assault on Gwendoline Street, Aberavon are no longer appealing for information to locate the suspects.
“A thorough investigation has taken place into the alleged incident and officers are now satisfied that the incident was not as reported to us.”
