The author, PT Rose, was at the time lecturing at Swansea University when one of his mature students confessed that….his wife had indeed, fallen in love with cardboard cutout of the Irish star.
The idea for a play immediately took root and has taken 20 years to be realized. Finally complete, interest in the script has been global with over a thousand actors applying to be involved.
Swansea will host the very first public presentation of the script at 7pm on January 22nd at The Dylan Thomas Theatre in Swansea.
The producer Karen Struel-White said: “Swansea is the ideal place for the play to be launched since it began life as a casual throw-away remark over a couple of pints in the
‘Queens’ pub, which is yards from the Dylan Thomas Theatre. This will be a FREE-to-attend event including a cast and writer Q&A”
