Fans raise a glass to Golden Boy
The Swansea Jack opened its doors on Wednesday 19 November on Little Wind Street, offering supporters a new city centre home to watch live sport and celebrate the club’s proud history.
The launch marked the first chance for fans to enjoy Golden Boy on draught, the lager created earlier this year in partnership between Swansea City AFC and Dhillon’s Brewery. Named after Allchurch’s famous nickname, the beer pays tribute to his achievements on and off the pitch.
Family pride at lasting legacy
Ivor’s wife Esme Allchurch and their sons said they were proud to see his memory celebrated both through the beer and at the venue.
Esme Allchurch said:
“It’s wonderful to see Ivor remembered in this way. He loved Swansea City and the people who supported the club so passionately. To have his name associated with something that brings fans together in the heart of the city is very special for our family.”
A hub for Swansea supporters
The Swansea Jack has been created as a dedicated hub for fans of all ages, serving food and drink alongside live sport. The décor features club memorabilia and tributes to Swansea City’s history, making it a fitting place to toast one of the club’s greatest players.
Dal Dhillon, Director of Dhillon’s Brewery and The Swansea Jack, said:
“It means a great deal to us that Esme and the Allchurch family are supporting the opening. Golden Boy embodies the values of pride, community and heritage at the heart of this venue.”
Where to find it
Located at 19 Little Wind Street, The Swansea Jack is now open as the go‑to destination in Swansea city centre for supporters to enjoy live sport, food, drink and a pint of Golden Boy in honour of the Golden Boy himself.
