Swans full back Josh Tymon’s own goal on the stroke of half-time proved to be the difference between the two sides in a competitive contest against the promotion hopefuls.
The Swans would once again enjoy the lion’s share of possession and would have golden chances with Myles Peart-Harris wasting a glorious opening moments earlier to put Swansea ahead.
Kieffer Moore should have wrapped things up for the home side in the second half as the Swans pushed for an equaliser. The Wales forward rattling the woodwork when well placed.
Tyrese Campbell and Andre Brooks were also guilty of missing openings for the Blades, but the Swans could not make an off-colour Sheffield pay with Žan Vipotnik unable to convert late on.
Williams would later take the positives from a match where he felt the first goal was key.

“I’m really proud of the team tonight. It’s a really tough game away from home,” said Williams after the loss.
“There was a lot that I was happy with. It isn’t easy to control the game like we did here.
“We had the first real good chance. We didn’t convert and then we conceded soon afterwards. I think that was probably the margin in this game.
“It’s those small margins. It’s a 1-0 game and I think it could have gone either way.
“I didn’t want him [Josh Tymon] to dwell on it [the own goal]. He has been incredible and we love him. He’s tried to strip the ball away from danger and it happens.
“I’m disappointed for him and I’m really proud of his performance as well.
“I don’t think anyone is going to come here and have a spell not to deal with but I think we limited them as much as we could.
“Vipi [Žan Vipotnik] has a very good chance in the closing stages and it would have been a massive point for us but we have to move on quickly because we have another game.
“The best way to recover from a defeat is to get another game quickly and we are pleased for that.”
