Swansea icon Kev Johns confirmed as star of Grand Theatre’s 2021 Panto – Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Swansea Grand Theatre has started to announce the fairest cast of them all!
In the theatre’s first panto casting announcement of the year, Swansea Grand Theatre has revealed that much-loved Grand Dame of pantomime, Kevin Johns MBE, will be starring in this year’s family production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, playing Snow White’s Cook.
One of Wales’ most prolific performers, Kevin’s career has spanned musical theatre, stand-up comedy, presenting and pantomime. With over two decades performing as Dame at the Singleton Street venue he has entertained thousands of audience members every Christmas with his trademark comedy, outrageous costumes and quick wit.
From Shakespeare to Songs of Praise, Kevin has appeared in numerous theatrical productions, television programmes and radio shows as well as being a newspaper columnist, author, fundraiser and recipient of the MBE from Her Majesty the Queen.

Kevin Johns said: “I can’t wait to be back on the Grand Theatre stage bringing much-needed cheer to our audiences this Christmas. The magic of live theatre is something we’ve all missed, and we’ll be making this Christmas’ panto extra-special to welcome audiences back after a year away”.
Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for Investment, Regeneration and Tourism, said: “It’s really good news that the Swansea Grand pantomime will be back this year, subject to any Covid-19 regulations. For thousands of panto-visitors Christmas isn’t really Christmas without a trip to the Swansea Grand panto. We can’t wait to find out who else will be joining Kev in what promises to be a star-studded experience.”
A spokesperson from the theatre commented: “The theatre is renowned for its fun packed, family friendly pantos and after last year’s disappointment when we had to cancel due to Covid 19, we are so excited to be able to share some seasonal sparkle with our lovely audiences. Kev Johns has always been a key ingredient in our pantos and as Snow White’s cook he’s sure to stir up lots of merriment, magic and mayhem.
“Tickets are selling fast, so don’t upset the apple cart and book yours today.”
Kevin is the first in a line-up of stars to be announced by the theatre, with more casting news expected soon.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is produced by Crossroads Pantomimes in association with Swansea Council, a partnership which has produced the pantomimes at Swansea Grand since 1994. The production will be packed with pantomime magic, glittering costumes, spectacular sets and comedy in abundance.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs runs from Friday 10 December 2021 to Sunday 2 January 2022 and forms part of the autumn programme at the Grand Theatre. Tickets are available at www.swanseagrand.co.uk
