A man died at the scene when a Ford Transit van and a coach collided on the A40 in the Tywi Valley on Friday afternoon. Dyfed-Powys Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
A man has died following a collision between a van and a coach on the A40 in Carmarthenshire on Friday afternoon.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the crash happened on the stretch of the A40 between Llandeilo and Nantgaredig at around 4.25pm on Friday (3 July).
The collision involved a Scania coach and a Ford Transit van.
The driver of the van, a man, died at the scene, the force confirmed.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A 14-year-old passenger was travelling on the coach along with its driver.
Both were taken to Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen as a precaution with minor injuries.
The A40 was closed in both directions between Llandeilo and Nantgaredig following the collision, with diversions in place around the Dryslwyn area.
Emergency services including an air ambulance attended the scene, according to BBC Wales.
The coach involved was operated by Ffoshelig Coaches, the BBC reported, adding that the firm did not wish to comment when approached. The Carmarthen-based company has been operating in the county since 1921.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information that could help their investigation to come forward.
Anyone who was travelling along the road at the relevant time and has dashcam footage is also asked to get in touch.

It is the third fatal collision on Carmarthenshire’s roads in less than a fortnight.
A motorcyclist died in a four-vehicle crash on the A40 between St Clears and Whitland on 21 June, and a 48-year-old man died in a collision between two motorcycles on the A4069 near Brynamman the following Sunday.
