How the Women’s World Cup play-off works

The tie is decided on aggregate over the two legs. If it is level after 90 minutes on Tuesday, it goes to extra time and then penalties.

The winners play Romania or Norway in a second two-legged play-off in late November and early December.

Seven of the eight second-round winners go straight to the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The other goes into an intercontinental play-off.
