Emergency services, including multiple police officers and paramedics, cordoned off the area as they responded to the scene. Images showed a significant emergency response and damage to the front end of the bus, including its windscreen.
Reports from the scene described that there were multiple police officers and paramedics present. Police later confirmed the woman and child were taken to hospital.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said:
“Police were called at just after 6.30pm today (Sunday November 17) to a woman and a child having been hit by a bus on Oystermouth Road, just outside the Winter Wonderland in Swansea.
“The woman and child have been taken to hospital to assess their injuries but they are not thought to be life-threatening. The road has now re-opened.”
