A fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the centre of Swansea this afternoon prompting a major emergency services response. At least 11 fire crews were called into attendance at the blaze in New Cut Road with people advised to avoid the area.
A statement from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:
“At 4.08pm on Monday, November 18th, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Swansea Central, Port Talbot, Neath, Pontardawe, Llanelli, Morriston and Carmarthen Fire Stations were called to an incident on New Cut Road in Swansea City Centre.
“Crews responded to a fire on the third floor of a multi-storey property. Crews utilised four breathing apparatus sets, one main jet and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“All persons were accounted for. Crews were involved in ventilating the property after the fire was extinguished and conducted searches of other floors before leaving the scene at 5.15pm.”
