Police appeal following death of 86-year-old man in Port Talbot collision

South Wales Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after an 86-year-old male pedestrian died today after a collision with a blue Skoda Fabia in Port Talbot on Saturday.

The unnamed pensioner sadly died from his injuries. His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Officers investigating the collision are continuing their appeal for witnesses to the incident which occurred outside Blanco’s Restaurant on Green Park Street in Sandfields, Port Talbot at around 5.45pm.

The force say the 20-year-old driver of the Skoda Fabia was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs, driving without a licence, and driving a car without due care and attention. He has since been released under investigation.
