37-year-old Geoffrey Jones was under investigation for separate allegations by a victim when they disclosed that they had been raped by Jones on several occasions between 2017 and 2019.
Swansea Crown Court heard that Jones plied his victim with a large number of shots of alcohol before raping them.
Another victim, whom Jones had attempted to rape on a night out in Swansea city centre in 2015 near St Mary’s Church reinstated their case, after initially choosing not to proceed with supporting the prosecution.
Jones was convicted of four counts of rape in relation to one victim and one count of attempted rape and digital penetration in relation to his other victim. He has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Detective Constable Penny Romanello from South Wales Police said: “Geoffrey Jones is an incredibly dangerous sex offender who repeatedly took advantage of victims and never showed any signs of regret or remorse for his actions.
“One of the victims, who was raped on numerous occasions by Geoffrey Jones, is still haunted by his actions and suffers panic attacks and flashbacks.
“We hope that the victims are now able to come to terms with their traumatic ordeals in the knowledge that Geoffrey Jones is embarking upon a significant amount of time in prison.”
