The changes, which take effect from 7 April 2024, mean changes to timetables including more earlier journeys and the introduction of new late evening and night time services on two routes.
The bus operator have said that while anyone can use the Unibws services, not just students, they are also looking at further improvements to other services across the city.
In an online statement, First Cymru said: “We’re making some improvements to our UniBws services in Swansea following customer feedback.
“We’ll also be introducing two brand new services to better suit evening and nighttime demand across the City. We are in the process of registering changes to improve other services across Swansea, and we hope to provide further information soon.
“These UniBws services aren’t just for students – everyone is able to use them! And remember, April also brings simplified fares and the introduction of Tap On, Tap Off on our entire network too!”
Unibws changes from 7 April
Service 90 circular route from Swansea University’s Bay Campus to the city centre, train station and Strand student accommodation will see a revised timetable to better suit customer demand, and new early journeys in time for morning lectures.
Service 90A from Guildhall to Swansea University’s Bay Campus via Fabian Way park and ride will also have an amended timetable. It’s route will also be extended, starting from the Guildhall rather than Christina Street in the city centre.
Service 91 will have an increased frequency, and will also see the introduction of a new service N91 nightbus which will connect Singleton Campus to Bay Campus via Uplands, Swansea Train Station, True Student Accommodation and Student Roost. It will operate from 7.05pm until 3.45am from Monday to Saturday.
Service 92 will also have an increased frequency , and will also see the introduction of a new service N92 nightbus which will connect Singleton Campus to Bay Campus via St Helen’s Road, St Helens, City Centre and Quay Parade. It will operate from 7pm until 3.54am from Monday to Saturday.
