South Wales Police say the conditions added to Glynneath Town Football Club’s licence will help ensure that any future events are run safely and don’t impact on the community, police or other emergency services.
The force says issues raised regarding the anti-social behaviour and community impact matters highlighted to the venue included large gatherings of under-age youths, and attendances larger than the capacity of the venue.
South Wales Police argued that there had been a significant and prolonged failure of the management of the premises to promote the licensing objectives, and that the Designated Premises Supervisor had failed to take the necessary steps to address the many issues highlighted to them.
Inspector Kevin Richards said: “Body-worn video evidence, showing total chaos at the premises when events were held, was central to being able to take the licensee to committee and obtain the determination which should reduce demand for local police at this venue.
“This is a great example of how our Neighbourhood Policing Teams and CSP can work together to solve some of the more complex issues we deal with.”
