Emergency services were called just before 8am this morning after reports of an LPG tank which was leaking fumes at Morrison petrol station on Christchurch Road, Baglan Industrial Estate.
South Wales Police cordoned the area off and warned people to avoid the area.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service say that two fire crews from Port Talbot and Neath attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “A 6,000 litre LPG bullet was leaking gas from a valve. The Police and Ambulance Service were also in attendance and a 100-metre cordon was put in place.
“The leak was isolated by gas engineers who also confirmed that the area was safe.
“Two breathing apparatus sets and one spray ground monitor were used. Crews left the scene at 9.39am.”
No injuries were reported in the incident.
