Born in Florida, USA. The 24-year-old Australian-American has established himself as a key player for the Ospreys with his ability to be a difference maker in tight matches at both full-back and at fly-half.
A product of the New South Wales Waratahs academy, Walsh joined Exeter Chiefs from Sydney club Manley Marlins in 2020, whilst previously featured in the Australia Under-18s set-up as a fly-half.
The 5’11” back then moved to south Wales in 2022 and has made 31 appearances for the Ospreys scoring 131 points in the process.
Walsh is the Ospreys’ top points scorer in the BKT URC so far this season with 51 points to his name playing a pivotal role in their pursuit of a top eight finish.
Ospreys head coach, Toby Booth, delighted with the renewal said:
“We were really happy to get this one over the line, Jack has been a real Swiss army knife for us since he joined. When you consider the skillset he possesses, his rugby league background, and his versatility, he’s a player that a lot of coaches would like.
“Jack has great maturity and understands the modern game well. He enjoys the responsibility and puts his hand up in big moments. He also challenges himself and his teammates to get better every day which culturally is great.”
Speaking on his new deal, Walsh added:
“I’m enjoying my rugby at the moment, so it’s great to be able to continue my career with the Ospreys. There’s a quality bunch of players and coaches at this team, we’re a really tight-knit group.
“We’re going well this season with a young squad that has a lot of potential, and we’re focused on seeing what we can achieve, now and in the future.”
