Mayhill and Waun Wen families enjoy community day

There was plenty of fun for all the family as residents from Mayhill and Waun Wen came together for a community day.
Activities included a bouncy castle, balloon sculptures, magician, kids disco, soft play, outdoor games and information stands.
The Wave radio station brought its roadshow to the area and broadcast live from the green off Long Ridge Road.
The event was organised by the Safer Swansea Partnership which is made up of Swansea Council, South Wales Police, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and other partners who were represented on the day.

Swansea Council leader Rob Stewart said: “People will know that a few months ago we had disturbances here, and that wasn’t a reflection on the Mayhill Community.
“What we’re seeing today though is – it’s about the community coming together, having a fantastic fun day up here on the hill.
“The council, it’s partners are all here to support the community, for us to ask them what they want going forward – what they would like to see in the area.
“During the coming weeks and months there will be further new investment in leisure and sports facilities, major improvements to the environment and the council will be supporting businesses in this community as well as others as part of our Covid Recovery Plan.”
