Man admits manslaughter of Clydach retired horsewoman
Brian Whitelock has admitted killing Wendy Buckney in August 2022, but is denying murder.
56-year-old Whitelock, of Tanycoed Road, Clydach pleaded manslaughter by reasons of diminished responsibility at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday (8 May).
The prosecution barrister, Michael Jones KC told the court the Crown did not accept the manslaughter plea and would be continuing to prosecute on a charge of murder.
A trial date has been set for 12 November.
Wendy’s family said at the time of the killing they were “devastated that our much loved sister, aunt and friend has been taken away so tragically. Our family are broken and we will miss her forever.”
