Man charged after ‘serious assault’ in Gorseinon pub

A 39-year-old man has been charged with assault after an incident at a pub in Gorseinon left a victim in a “critical, life-threatening condition”.

The attack, which took place on Sunday 26 May at The Station Hotel in Gorseinon – known locally as the ‘Gyp’ – left the victim in hospital in a critical, life-threatening condition.

Police have charged 39-year-old Christopher Cooper, from Swansea’s Maritime Quarter with assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH).

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “Officers are continuing to investigate a serious assault which took place at The Station Hotel, Gorseinon – known locally as ‘The Gyp’ – at 9:45pm on Sunday May 26.

“The victim remains in hospital in a critical, life-threatening condition.

“39-year-old Christopher Cooper, from the Maritime Quarter, Swansea, has been charged with Assault (GBH) with intent to commit GBH in connection with the incident.
