Peel’s side took a shock lead through number eight Fletcher Anderson, but the hosts responded with five first half tries, including two from fly-half Matthieu Jalibert.
Captain Jefferson Poirot, hooker Gaetan Barlot and South African flanker Tiaan Jacobs all going over as the French built a commanding lead.
Prop Henry Thomas kept Scarlets in touch, but at 31-14 at the break, but a tenth European win in a row for the title holders looked all but sealed.
The west wallians defence put up more resistance after the break, but the French powerhouses would still mange three more tries.
Centre Pablo Uberti touched down in the corner for a sixth try just ahead of the hour before Anderson’s second saw Scarlets in the hunt for a consolation bonus-point, however, tired bodies could not find a way over the line.
Xan Mousques and super star winger Louis Bielle-Biarrey then both touched down for the hosts to complete an impressive victory.
Scarlets remain winless in Pool 4 after their narrow defeat to Bristol in match day one, while Bordeaux are top the table after seeing off Bulls in South Africa last weekend.
“It is obviously disappointing that we didn’t get anything out of the game, we were fighting hard for that fourth try at the end,” said Peel.
“I can’t fault the effort of the boys; it was just our inaccuracies that hurt us out there.
“You can’t allow a side of the quality of Bordeaux easy ins, and I felt our kicking game wasn’t as much of a contest as we would have liked. It allowed them opportunities to run at us, and Bordeaux are ruthless on the counter attack.
“Our forwards carried strongly, that is something we have worked hard on in training, I thought Fletcher Anderson at eight was excellent, he has been a really good signing for us.
“When we were in their 22, I thought we took our tries well, it was just frustrating that the game got away through our inaccuracies. A side of the quality of Bordeaux are always going to punish you when you make the type of errors we did.”
