Read below for a full rundown of the Ffos Las card today courtesy of Sporting Life, who offer the latest horse racing odds.
For those interested in attending, full event details and tickets are available via Ffos Las Racecourse.
2.50 – Two-and-a-half‑mile Handicap Hurdle
Lion Of The Desert is chasing a hat-trick of C&D wins, and his new 5lb higher mark isn’t necessarily beyond him, but Lemon Leaf could be open to greater improvement. He ran out a good winner on his C&D handicap debut and, although a 10lb rise leaves him needing more, he’s almost certainly capable of it.
Red Rubio is a former point winner who promises to improve for the step up to 2m4f, so he needs to be respected too.
3.20 – Two-mile Novice Hurdle
Five runners will take to a short course novice hurdle, with Haverfordwest-based trainer Mickey Bowen having a bright hurdling prospect Fiskardo on display.
Having made light work of a 20-month absence to win at Perth last month, he is on the up and will hope to get the better of One Knight, who drops back down to this Class 4 contest after a Grade 2 run at Aintree last time out.
3.50 – Three‑mile Novice Handicap Hurdle
In this next handicap hurdle, the Bowen yard will have another bright hope, with the top-rated Green Asset given a chance by the handicapper.
He will face the challenge of Glenmuick under the ride of Lily Pinchin for Charlie Longsden, runner-up over C&D last time, and retains some potential as a stayer.
Poet’s Muse is the third choice, with her being another open to improvement as a stayer. She was runner-up on her recent handicap debut at Taunton.
4.20 – Three-mile Handicap Chase
In the next race, the Bowen household will combine, with James riding Axel Bleue. However, the form of lightly raced 7yo Hell Hound catches the eye, running for the in-form Neil Mulholland, and is one to watch despite a seven-pound rise following a comfortable win last time out at Newton Abbot.
4.50 – Three-mile Handicap Chase
The penultimate race is a handicap chase, with another Welsh trainer, Rebecca Curtis’ Bridget Mary holding the best claims. She will go off with just a 2lb rise following a C&D win in April to fulfill the promise of a runner-up finish at Chepstow in March.
Just A Memory has run poorly over hurdles the last twice but had earlier been in good form over fences, and she’s the danger, although Lynsey Larue is of some interest back up in trip, tried in a tongue-tie.
5.22 – Two‑and-a-half mile Handicap Hurdle
An open race after two pull-outs. Forest Spirit, third over C&D last month, is the choice for a double for the Bowen stable, wearing first-time cheekpieces. It is reasonable to believe she could take another step forward. Kate’s Choice and Jlow head the opposition.
