The 10-mile race is back at Wear Wally, the green-and-white charity run that starts from the LC in Swansea on Sunday 29 November.
The money raised goes to Popham Kidney Support, the Swansea charity set up in 2013 in memory of Paul “Wally” Popham, whose nickname gives the race its name.
Organisers say the new out-and-back route is flat and fast, a chance to chase a personal best.
Runners can also choose 5k or 5 miles. Every entrant gets a green-and-white “Big Bobble Hat”, and finishers get a dated badge.
Hundreds of runners come back to it every year, the club says.
10 miles for 10 years of Paul Popham Running Club
This year’s 10 miles mark the 10th anniversary of Paul Popham Running Club, which trains at the LC and organises the race.
Club president Joanne Popham, Paul’s daughter and the charity’s chief executive, said: “It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Paul Popham Running Club began.”
Bringing back the longest race was the obvious choice, she said: “Wear Wally has been a big part of that journey, so bringing the 10-mile race back for our 10th anniversary feels like a fitting way to celebrate.”

Why it’s Wear Wally, and why runners wear green and white
The name is a play on Where’s Wally?, the children’s puzzle books.
Instead of Wally’s red and white stripes, runners are asked to wear green and white, the colours of St Joseph’s, the Swansea football club where Paul played.
The charity marked its first decade in 2023 with Wally’s Way, a night in Paul’s honour at Morgans Hotel.
Where the money goes: Popham Kidney Support
For people affected by kidney disease across Wales, it runs peer support, counselling, education and awareness work, health groups and activity days.
It says it reached more than 3,000 people in the past year, and it holds the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Its supporters raise money all year: in July, its golf day at Clyne raised a record £14,000.
Start times, age limits and how to enter Wear Wally
Registration opens at 8am. The 5k starts at 9.05am, the 5 miles at 9.10am and the 10 miles at 9.15am.
The 5k is open to runners aged 11 and over, the 5 miles to those 16 and over, and the 10 miles to those 18 and over.
Entries close on 17 November, through the club’s Wear Wally page.
