Drug-dealing Portmead woman caught after driving down dead-end street trying to evade Police

A Portmead woman has been jailed for various drugs offences following a stop by plain clothes police officers.

Hayley Hughes, aged 42, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and acquire/ use of criminal property when she appeared at Swansea Magistrates court on Tuesday 15 April 2025.

This followed an incident on Monday 14 April,2025, where Hughes was stopped by plain clothed police officers who were on patrol in Swansea City Centre. They had witnessed Hughes in what appeared to be a drug deal.

When approached she sped off in her car but ended up driving down a dead-end street where she was detained. She was found in possession of over £500 in cash, two ounces of cocaine, split up into individual deals and 3.35 grams of amphetamine.

Her mobile phone was analysed which revealed her heavy involvement in the supply of cocaine within the communities of Swansea.

Hughes was sentenced to two years and four months in prison when she was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on Tuesday 10 June, 2025.

PC Wilson from South Wales Police said: “We have plain clothes patrols across South Wales every day looking out for criminal activity like this. I’m pleased to see this sentence allotted to her and hope this allows her the time to reflect on his actions.”
