In February 2022 officers from South Wales Police executed a warrant on Queen Street, Bridgend following local intelligence that Cockerill aged 44 was supplying Class A drugs from the address.
Cockerill was found inside along with amounts of Cocaine, Amphetamine and Cannabis.
Also found and seized were a large quantity of cash and paraphernalia used in the supply of controlled drugs such as weighing scales and numerous small plastic snap-bags.
He was arrested and interviewed, during which he denied supplying controlled drugs, claiming that the illegal product seized was all for personal use. Cockerill showed contempt for the law throughout.
PC Christopher Thomas from South Wales Police said: “Such was his arrogance and contempt for the law, most of these drugs were strewn across Cockerills flat in full view.
“A long and protracted investigation led to his welcome conviction last week.
“This sentence reflects the seriousness with which the supply of controlled drugs is taken by our courts, and the relentless determination of South Wales Police to rid our communities of the misery and corrosive impact that this illegal activity causes, mostly to the youngest and most vulnerable in our society.
