Local businesses are being invited to take a look at the shop units beneath Swansea’s newest car park, as the council looks for tenants to bring that corner of Copr Bay to life.
The units sit along Cupid Way, beneath the Copr Bay North multi-storey, on the walking route from the city centre over the bridge to Swansea Arena.
Swansea Council says it is in “positive discussions” with a number of businesses, and that interest from local traders would be especially welcome.
Swansea BID is hosting a drop-in on Thursday 9 October, from 9.30am to 1pm, at its offices on the first floor of 11 Wind Street, where the council’s development managers, Rivington Hark, will answer questions.

Cupid Way units suit shops, cafés and restaurants
The council says the units are suitable for shops, cafés, restaurants and other uses, and have been designed to help create “an active and welcoming destination” for residents and visitors.
They sit on the route linking the city centre with the arena, Amy Dillwyn Park and Swansea Marina, via the bridge over Oystermouth Road.

“Copr Bay North is our city centre’s newest landmark and the retail units are right underneath, just a minute or two from the arena and the city centre,” said council leader Cllr Rob Stewart.
“We’re having positive discussions with a number of businesses and we’re looking forward to seeing these high-quality units brought to life. Our aim is to attract businesses that will complement the wider Copr Bay development and add further vibrancy to the city centre.”
Porth Copr next door to bring more people, council says
The 628-space car park above the units opened in July, after its original contractor went into administration partway through the build.
Traders were announced for the units back in 2022 but did not move in. In June, the council told councillors there were already “two very strong interests” in two of them.
Across Cupid Way, the old St David’s multi-storey has been demolished to make way for Porth Copr, the council’s scheme with Urban Splash for offices, learning and commercial space. Cllr Stewart has said it will “bring significantly more people into the area, helping to create the footfall needed to attract new shops and other businesses”.
