New research by oven cleaning brand, Oven Pride, has revealed the UK’s pizza preferences.
Oven Pride scoured the depths of Google and crunched the numbers to discover the most popular types of pizza in the UK based on search results.
So what is the UK’s favourite topping? Does pineapple even belong on a pizza? Is it still a pizza if it doesn’t have cheese?
The data make interesting, if slightly disturbing reading!
It seems that Brits are in fact quite boring when it comes to choosing their pizzas, with the UK’s favourite pizza topping combination being margherita, with 22,200 avg. monthly searches.
Some surprising toppings made the top 10 however, such as cauliflower and turkey. Not your usual pizza topping contenders!
Egg pizza, Potato pizza and Bean pizza ranked higher than your standard Four Cheese.
Hawaiian ranked as the UK’s third favourite pizza, followed by Pineapple pizza in fourth place, so does this settle the famous ‘pineapple on pizza’ debate?
Searches for ‘Vegan Pizza’ almost doubled from December 2020 to January 2021, showing people were certainly having a go at Veganuary.
Pineapple is the UK’s top vegan pizza – which is quite divisive.

Detroit style pizza is on the rise in the UK, with searches increasing since 2017.
St Louis and Greek Pizza are the UK’s least favourite styles of pizza, and didn’t even make it to the top 10.
