FFOS LAS RACECOURSE: Preview and tips for Friday’s six‑race meeting

Read on for a preview of and tips for the Ffos Las card, courtesy of Boyle Sports, who have all the horse racing odds.

2.00 – Five-furlong handicap

Bridget’s Baby has obvious claims if turning out just two days after things went wrong at Wolverhampton. She’d previously scored well at Lingfield, but she is taking on a past C&D winner in Forever Glamorous who was a little too keen upped to 6f at Windsor last time.

Back down in trip and with rain forecast, he rates a strong selection. Third on the list is Little Jaybee, who although yet to win on turf, did run well last time, finishing third.

2.35 – Seven-furlong handicap

There’s almost certainly more to come from Mountain of Light who is now handicapping for her yard, but the best option might well be The Stone Power, who is coming off a breakthrough success over C&D when scoring with plenty in hand.

He hung under pressure and might not be the easiest, but is still open to improvement for his good yard and may yet rate higher as a son of Kingman. Dappled Light has been on a fine run of form and comes in as third choice.

3.10 – One-mile maiden stakes

It would be no surprise at all to see a markedly better effort from Zupa Trupa, with her bred to fare better as a three-year-old now upped in trip on turf, but the ex-Andrew Fabre-trained Graniteville could be really well suited the conditions of this if the rain arrives.

He lacked pace on his British debut at Kempton, keeping on for fourth and finishing two places behind Withtearsinmyeyes, and is strongly fancied to reverse form her with the emphasis more on stamina.

3.45 – One-mile classified stakes

Dinah Myte has been running well over further and could be a key player dropping to eight furlongs even if rain arrives, but it’s Castlekeely who is the selection. The three-year-old hit the line well when runner-up in a similar race at Yarmouth last time and has a big chance here if building on that.

Alice’s Influence has been running well enough in handicaps and looks a player dropped into a classified also.

4.20 – One-mile- two- furlong handicap

This looks quite open. Lc Tiffen, an improved winner at Haydock last time when having the hood removed, can go well again although was sent off at 80-1 that day, so some will question the trustworthy nature of the form.

Give Me Sun, another last-time-out winner, may go well again up just two pound, but it’s Sunshine and Roses who is the selection. Jack Channon’s filly has been in fine form over 8/9f and looks a likely improver now upped to ten furlongs. Her mark remains fair.

4.55 – One-mile– four- furlong handicap

Robusto is up four pounds from his Leicester triumph and may need more to follow up this time, while the in-form Raintown should again go well but could be left vulnerable by a two pound rise.

This might be between Crackergee and Flightofthephoenix, though, with the former taken to return to winning ways back at a C&D that he was successful at two starts back.

Watching the action at Ffos Las

Racing at Ffos Las gets underway at 2.00 pm with the opening handicap and continues through to the final handicap on the flat at 4.55 pm, offering a full afternoon of competitive action.
