It was the night that took Swansea City to their famous League Cup final triumph in 2013. The weather was atrocious, but thousands braved the snowy conditions to travel to the then Liberty Stadium.
Whilst the Swans would march on to Wembley, their semi-final second leg tie against Chelsea made the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The 33-year-old, now retired was widely regarded as one of the best players of his generation, was playing for the London club when he was sent off by referee Chris Foy for kicking a ball out from underneath a ball boy.
Michael Laudrup’s Swans side were 2-0 up from the previous leg and, with time running out with the scores locked at 0-0, a frustrated Hazard had attempted to dislodge the ball from beneath Charlie Morgan who he felt was holding onto the ball too long.
The Swans went on to win the competition that year thrashing Bradford 5-0 in the final and the story has become something of legendary tale in South Wales and beyond.
Life has certainly changed for Charlie, son of ex-board member and multi-millionaire businessman Martin Morgan. In 2016 together with his friend Jackson Quinn, Charlie launched drinks brand Au Vodka with the company achieving global success.
Initially sold to local bars in Swansea, Au Vodka is now available worldwide and production has increased to 35,000 daily units from a one-time limited run of 2,000 its trademark gold bottles.
The drink, which is now sold in 40 countries across the world, has been endorsed by Floyd Mayweather, Jake Paul and Ronaldinho amongst other famous personalities.
Enjoying a catch-up with a large glass of the beverage the two now can laugh about the moment which certainly raised eyebrows at the time.
“I left that game thinking this was going to be a small thing,” said Charlie reminiscing with the Belgian.
“I was quite good friends with a lot of the Swans players at the time and there was a big night out celebrating because we were in the final.
“Mum had a knock at the door at six am and the front door is on ITV and Sky Sports News.
“For a month all the newspapers were outside my house. Fox News, Sky News and all the Paparazzi.
“For two weeks I was famous, then not so famous.”
Charlie certainly is now for the right reasons with his Vodka brand helping him enter The Times Young Rich List where he is estimated to be worth a whopping £40m.
