South Wales Police say that they have charged 44 year-old Craig Jones from Swansea with burglary and remanded him into custody.

It comes after a break-in at the Secret Beach Bar and Kitchen on Swansea’s promenade at 5am on Wednesday 30 June.

Jones allegedly forced entry by smashing the main glass windows. Police say he was captured on CCTV walking over to the bar and taking the staff tip jar.

At the time of the break-in, Secret Beach Bar and Kitchen wrote on their facebook page: “We arrived to this surprise this morning – A lovely chap had decided to force entry and help himself to everything he could find! It’s all on CCTV & in police hands.

“We seem to be having some bad luck recently but we don’t want to dwell on it! We are boarded up and open again, sorry for the late start!

“We won’t let these people spoil our venue or ruin our vibe – We go again!”
